Scindapsus Pictus ‘Exotica’

Known as Silver Satin Pothos or Satin Pothos, Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica' boasts lush, velvety leaves adorned with striking shimmering patches of silver variegation. Unlike its relatives like 'Silvery Ann' or Argyraeus, the 'Exotica' variety flaunts a substantial coverage of silver variegation across its leaves. Moreover, its leaves are notably larger and thicker compared to those of its counterparts.

Exotica Care:

• In its natural habitat, Scindapsus pictus ‘Exotica’ thrives as an understory plant, benefiting from several hours of bright, indirect sunlight. However, it can tolerate medium to low light conditions, although growth may be minimal in low light. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the leaves of this tropical species.
• To prevent root rot, plant 'Exotica' in loose, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. An ideal soil mix consists of equal parts orchid bark, coco peat, potting soil, and perlite, ensuring a balance of moisture retention and drainage.
• Water 'Exotica' when the top 2 to 3 inches of soil are dry, avoiding both complete drying out and consistent saturation, which can lead to root issues. During active growth in summer, weekly watering may be necessary, while watering can be reduced significantly in winter.
